A piece I wrote for Inc. magazine was published today on the magazine’s Web site. It’ll be available in print in Inc.’s March issue, which comes out Feb. 25. The story is about Green Mobile, a company that buys, sells and repairs used cell phones.

Now that I’ve been in Brussels for five or so weeks, I thought I’d put up the Web site that I am working on and will be working on until late April. It’s called thiseurope.com. It’s a pan-European lifestyle culture site. Europe without the boring bits, as my boss says.

I just finished my first feature for the site, so that’s exciting. It focuses on the backlash in Europe towards the EU’s biofuels targets in light of new research pointing out the downside (or potential downside) of growing plants for fuel.

Hearst Journalism Award

For spring semester of last year I was the Forum editor for The Maneater, MU’s student newspaper. I was responsible for writing the editorials, one of which was entered into the Hearst Journalism Awards contest for editorial writing. I ended up winning seventh place. And I am apparently the only person from MU to have placed in that category in recent memory.
